ERP & EMDR for OCD

I integrate Exposure and Response Prevention, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive traits and disorder. The initial phase of treatment is teaching and installing response prevention, habituation, and anxiety management. Once stressors are manageable, and to address the root of obsessive-compulsive experiences, I incorporate EMDR techniques to process through past, recent, and future stressors. The goal is to help you learn effective coping with the discomfort caused by OCD and to have the confidence to apply those learned skills in potentially distressing situations.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences that may continue to influence how you think, feel, and respond in the present.

I use EMDR to help individuals work through stressful life experiences, anxiety, trauma, and other distressing patterns that may persist despite years of trying to move forward. Rather than simply managing symptoms, EMDR can help you resolve the underlying experiences contributing to them, creating greater calm, resilience, and freedom.

I offer individualized consultation for:

• Therapists seeking consultation hours after completing Part 1 EMDR training

• Therapists working toward EMDRIA certification  

• EMDRIA Consultants-in-Training (CITs) working toward Consultant status  

• Experienced EMDR therapists seeking advanced clinical consultation beyond the certification process 

Consultation is collaborative and tailored to your needs, with a focus on clinical decision-making, case conceptualization, treatment planning, and confident application of EMDR.
